A perforated slab is a precast slab with openings cast into it. Laid over a drain, it keeps people and debris out while still letting surface water flow in.
It also makes drains easy to inspect, because you can see the flow without lifting the cover. Slabs are cast in our yard for consistent size, so they sit neatly on our drain units.
